Best Paradox Rift Chase Cards and Current Values

By TCG Emporium Editorial Team · Published 18 October 2026 · Updated 18 October 2026

Groudon 199/182 is the Paradox Rift chase card, and it is an Illustration Rare, not one of the Special Illustration Rares. Raw copies have recently sold for about £78, nearly double Altaria ex 253/182, the next card down at £40 to £45. Only four raw sales fed that figure, so treat it as a guide rather than a fixed price.

Groudon 199/182

The card the set is chasing. Nurikabe draws Groudon standing in the surf, with lava running down the slopes and two volcanoes erupting behind it. The colours are red, black and orange against a stormy sky.

Four raw sales between 16 and 17 October ran from £71 to £82, with the middle at about £78. That is too few sales to trim, so the full spread is shown.

Graded copies are not scarce. Nearly 6,000 have a PSA 10, and PSA 10 sales have a median of about £433, a little over five times a raw copy.

Altaria ex 253/182

The set's top Special Illustration Rare. Jiro Sasumo shows Altaria flying low over a coastline, with a pale blue sea, patches of purple and green land below, and a cloud-like body that blends into the sky. Small white birds fly over the shore.

Seven raw sales between 13 and 16 October gave a trimmed range of £40 to £45. PSA 10 copies sell for about £226, five times a raw copy.

Morpeko 206/182

The busiest art in the top ten, and it costs far less than Groudon. Yuu Nishida surrounds Morpeko with lollipops, chocolate and swirled sweets in pink and yellow, and Morpeko looks cross with a lollipop in hand.

Eight raw sales between 12 and 16 October ran from £34 to £41. A PSA 10 has a median of about £179, with 1,310 graded at that level.

Roaring Moon ex 251/182

The widest raw spread in the top four. Ryota Murayama's Roaring Moon spreads its red and teal wings in a swirl of wind, with small pink Pokémon around its feet. The card carries the Ancient label.

Six raw sales between 14 and 16 October gave a trimmed range of £21 to £35, a wide gap for a card at this level. Check the condition photos closely before paying towards the upper end.

Plusle 193/182 and Minun 194/182, the grading outliers

Raw, Plusle sells for £19 to £30. A PSA 10 has a median of about £210, roughly eight times the middle of the raw sales. Minun is close behind at about £195 for a PSA 10, roughly seven times its raw middle. These are the two biggest gaps between raw and PSA 10 among the cards with at least 500 PSA 10 copies.

That gap tells you a clean, well-centred copy is worth far more than an average one. It does not tell you grading will pay. Fees, postage both ways and the chance of a 9 rather than a 10 all come off the top. Our UK grading guide walks through those costs.

Further down the list

  • Garchomp ex 245/182 by Oswaldo KATO puts a red and blue Garchomp in a swirl of green and white water. It sold at about £26 across five raw sales, with a range of £22 to £55 across the sales behind it, so the middle is a rough guide only.
  • Steelix 208/182 by nisimono shows a huge Steelix rising beside a building under construction, with a crane and workers on the frame. Raw copies sell for £19 to £25.
  • Gholdengo ex 252/182 by Akira Komayama is a scowling Gholdengo against a bright yellow brick wall. It sells for £18 to £26 raw.
  • Golisopod ex 246/182 by Oku sells for £18 to £22 raw. Fewer than 500 PSA 10 copies are recorded, so we show no PSA 10 figure.

How we priced these cards

We read the most recent raw eBay completed sales for each card, up to ten, from CardTrack's sold-sales ledger, which covers the UK, US and other eBay sites. With six or more sales we drop the single highest and lowest, then quote the range of the rest. With four or five sales we show the middle and the sale count instead. Dollars are converted at £0.7499 (16 October 2026).

PSA 10 figures are the median of PSA 10 completed sales, shown only where at least 500 copies hold that grade. The population figures are PSA's own counts as recorded in the ledger. The full method is in our guide on how to value Pokémon cards.

A note on pull rates

We do not publish pull rates for Paradox Rift. There are no official odds, and community estimates vary with sample size and product. Our guide to pull rates explains why.

Collector notes

  • Plusle and Minun are a pair. Same illustrator, OKACHEKE, consecutive numbers, and the same living room scene with a person on the sofa behind each Pokémon.
  • Groudon beats every Special Illustration Rare. The top card is an Illustration Rare, so the rarity name alone is not a guide to which card costs most. Our rarity symbols guide explains what each one means.
  • Numbers run past the printed total. Cards are marked with /182 but the set has 266 cards, so use the full number when comparing listings. Every Paradox Rift card by number is on the set's own page.
  • Check the reverse holo isn't being sold as something more. Our guide to holo and reverse holo cards shows the difference.
