Choosing Pokémon booster packs
A booster pack is the basic unit: a sealed foil packet of cards from one set. Every other sealed product on this site is some number of these with something else around them. If you want to open a few packs of a set without committing to a box, the pack is the product.
What is in a pack
Modern English packs from Scarlet & Violet onwards hold ten cards: a mix of commons and uncommons, at least one card of rare rarity or above, a reverse-holo card and a basic Energy, plus a code card for the online game. Sword & Shield packs held ten as well with a similar layout. Older packs held eleven, and Base Set packs eleven with no reverse holos, because reverse holos did not exist yet. Each set has four pack artworks, and the art on the front tells you nothing about what is inside.
Loose, sleeved, blister and art bundle
The same pack reaches you in several wrappers. A loose pack is the bare foil packet, as pulled from a booster box. A sleeved booster is the same pack in a printed cardboard sleeve, sold through supermarkets and newsagents. A blister is one or three packs on a cardboard backing with a promo card, which has its own page. A pack art bundle is one of each of the four pack artworks, sold together. We will list each wrapper as its own product so you know what arrives.
Why we will not sell packs from boxes we opened
A loose pack can be weighed, and a heavier pack tends to hold a holo. A seller who opens boxes and sells the packs on has the opportunity to weigh them first, and you cannot tell from the outside whether they did. So every loose pack we sell will come to us loose, as a sleeved booster or in a sealed pack-art bundle, from a distributor or retailer, and we will say which on the page. We will never list packs pulled from a box we opened ourselves, however tempting the maths.
Who a pack suits
Someone who wants to open a few of a new set, or wants one pack from an older set as a keepsake. Someone trying a set before deciding on a box. For anything more than a handful, a booster bundle of six usually makes more sense per pack.
The packs we plan to carry first are below, each under its set.
Questions we get asked
How many cards are in a Pokémon booster pack?
Ten in every Scarlet & Violet, Mega Evolution and Sword & Shield pack. Eleven in Sun & Moon and earlier. The count is on the back of the pack.
Are sleeved boosters different from loose packs?
No. The pack inside is the same. The sleeve is a retail wrapper that makes the pack harder to weigh and easier to hang on a peg, which is why we are happy to sell them.
Can I buy a specific pack art?
Only as part of an art bundle, which holds one of each of the four. We will not pick artworks out of boxes to order.
Will you sell vintage packs?
Only ones we can trace. A loose Base Set pack with no chain behind it is not something we will list, because resealed vintage packs are common and hard to spot.
