One Piece Card Size and Sleeve Fit

One Piece cards use the standard 63 x 88 mm format; how sleeves and binder pockets are sized for it, and what Bandai does and does not state.

One Piece card size is the standard trading card format, 63 x 88 mm or 2½ x 3½ inches. We found no measurement on Bandai's English product pages or rule manuals, so the figures here come from sleeve makers, retailers and guides, and they are labelled that way.

One Piece card dimensions

Third-party sources agree on 63 x 88 mm. Card Game Base puts One Piece cards at 63 x 88 mm (2.49 x 3.48 in) without giving a source, and a Japanese TCG portal's column on One Piece sleeves gives 63 x 88 mm as well. The UK card-grader Ace lists One Piece with Pokémon under standard-sized TCG cards on its supported-games page, and gives that size as 6.3cm x 8.8cm. A UK retailer lists Dragon Shield standard sleeves, for cards measuring up to 63 x 88 mm (2½ x 3½ in), as suitable for One Piece, Magic, Pokémon, Digimon, Lorcana and Flesh and Blood.

Dragon Shield's own size guide gives its standard size as 63 x 88 mm (2½ x 3½ in) and names Magic, Pokémon, Flesh and Blood, Lorcana and most western TCGs. It does not name One Piece, so the link to One Piece rests on the retailer and guide sources above.

That makes One Piece the same size as Pokémon and Magic cards, so the same sleeves and binder pages usually work across the three.

Standard size or Japanese size

Dragon Shield sells a second format, Japanese size, at 59 x 86 mm. It lists Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cardfight Vanguard and other Japanese-format cards for it. One Piece sits under standard size in the sources above, so sleeves labelled Japanese size are too small and should be avoided. The words "Japanese size" describe the card format, not where a card was printed.

Sleeve sizes for One Piece cards

Makers quote two numbers, and the difference matters. Some quote the card the sleeve is made for, others the outside of the sleeve. Gamegenic gives both: Inner Sleeves are 64 x 89 mm and take a card up to 63 x 88 mm, and Prime Sleeves are 66 x 91 mm and take a card up to 64 x 89 mm. Dragon Shield quotes only the card size.

Bandai official card sleevesSize not stated on Bandai's pagesPacks of 70 sleeves of one design

Bandai sells its own official sleeves in packs of 70 and does not state their size on its English product pages. Our sleeves page gives the stated size for every sleeve we stock, in the maker's own words.

Sleeves for a full deck

The official rule manual says a game needs one Leader card, a deck of 50 cards and a DON!! deck of 10 cards. That is 61 cards, so a pack of 70 leaves nine spare sleeves for replacements.

Bandai's tournament rules set out how to sleeve them. Main deck sleeves must be opaque and identical in colour, wear and design, and each sleeve may hold one card. A player may use up to two sleeves per card, and sleeves with reflective backs or holographic fronts are not allowed. Leader and DON!! cards must be sleeved, or left unsleeved, in a way that tells them apart from the main deck. The same rules bar cards that have been marked, painted, stamped or altered, and slabbed cards, from official events.

Binder pockets

A binder pocket has to take the card and its sleeve. Vault X states an internal pocket of 68 x 97 mm for its 9-Pocket Exo-Tec Zip Binder, which is 2 mm wider and 6 mm taller than a Gamegenic Prime sleeve at 66 x 91 mm. Vault X also says the pockets suit single-sleeved and double-sleeved cards. Ultra PRO describes its Platinum Series 9-Pocket Pages as made for standard size (2.5 x 3.5 in) trading and gaming cards and says nothing about sleeved cards.

When a maker quotes only the card size, it has not said whether a sleeved card fits. Bandai has its own Official 9 Pocket Binder vol.1, with 10 pages and 10 DON!! cards, and its page gives no pocket size. Our binders page gives the pocket size for each binder we stock.

Booster boxes and other sealed products

Bandai's product pages give card counts, not box measurements. EB-01 states 12 cards per pack and 24 packs per box. We have not found a box measurement on any Bandai page, so we do not list one. Check a product's own description before you plan shelf space.

If a card measures wrong

A card that is clearly off 63 x 88 mm, or whose edges, corners and print differ from a genuine copy of the same card, deserves a closer look. Compare it with another copy you know is real, and read how to spot fake One Piece cards before you buy or sleeve it. Cards that have been trimmed or miscut will not match the nominal size, whatever their origin.

Questions

What size are One Piece cards in mm?

63 x 88 mm, according to the sleeve and retailer sources above. Bandai's own pages do not state it.

What size are One Piece cards in inches?

2½ x 3½ inches, the same as Dragon Shield's standard size.

Are One Piece cards the same size as Pokémon cards?

The sources above treat both as standard size, 63 x 88 mm, so standard sleeves made for one are sold for the other.

Do I need Japanese size sleeves?

No. Japanese size, 59 x 86 mm, is for cards such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight Vanguard.

How many sleeves do I need for a deck?

61 for a full deck: the Leader, 50 cards and 10 DON!! cards.
